The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in SAT/PSAT/ACT.....
| Question #96: |
- I am a sophomore. I took the PSAT a few months ago.
I have not received my scores yet, however I am already receiving
letters from colleges. Do they have my scores? How did they find
me? (courtesy Carl Hegney, Dormansville, NY)
|
| Answer #96: |
- When you took the PSAT, you probably answered "Yes" to the
question which asked if you wanted to receive information from
colleges. The Educational Testing Company then made your name
available to colleges whose mid-range scores correspond to the
results of your PSAT.
When you receive your PSAT scores, you will see your national
percentages and your projected SAT I scores. Those numbers should
give you an idea about the academic level of colleges you should
consider.
Of course, the sophomore PSAT is just practice. When you take it
in your junior year, you will be getting a more accurate picture
of the math and verbal scores you can expect on the SAT I and you
will be competing in the National Scholarship Qualifying Test.
EDUFAX provides Verbal Test Prep Tutorials (PSAT/SAT I/SAT II/ACT).
