The EDUFAX Educational FAQ

I am interested in SAT/PSAT/ACT.....

Question #94:
  • My ACT score is low but my grades are high. Can I avoid reporting my ACT scores when applying to colleges? (courtesy Danielle Ross, Silver Creek, MS)
Answer #94:
  • Although most competitive colleges require some form of standardized testing, there are a number of schools which require neither the SAT I nor the ACT for admission.
However, instead of choosing a school by entry requirements alone, you should try to see what you can do about raising your scores for the next testing date. Go over some practice tests to determine your strengths and weaknesses.
If there is a serious discrepancy between your ACT scores and your schoolwork, you should probably have an educational evaluation to see if there is an underlying learning difference which is preventing your success on standardized testing.
Use the EDUFAX search engine to find Books and Software to assist you in preparing for the PSAT/SAT I/SAT II/ACT. EDUFAX provides access to a high-powered search engine which searches the entire Internet for Test prep Books and Software. With one click, the search engine returns a list of items in ascending order of price. Check out the comparison shopping search engine [free].
