I am a junior in high school. I greatly improved my SAT scores after taking them a second time. My scores are now in the upper 50% for all the colleges I am considering. Should I take the SATs again? (by way of GOCOLLEGE)

Answer #22:

It is wonderful that you have been able to improve your scores. Be aware that admissions criteria change every year and you might suddenly fall into the bottom section at one of the schools which interests you. Since you seem to be able to influence your results, continue studying and take the test once more. Colleges will consider your highest math and your highest verbal scores as your complete score, even if they do not appear on the same test. You have nothing to lose by taking the exam again.
