The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in SAT/PSAT/ACT.....
| Question #124: |
- I am a freshman in high school. Should I start taking
the ACT and SAT now?
|
| Answer #124: |
- It is never too early to start preparing for standardized testing
with computer programs or prep books, but it is not necessary to
tack an actual graded test until your sophomore year of high school.
Some guidance counselors and consultants even suggest waiting until
junior year, but I believe that it is important to familiarize
yourself with actual test-taking conditions before you take tests
that will count.
Try both the PLAN (Preparatory Test for the ACT) and the PSAT
(Preparatory test for the SAT I) in your sophomore year to see which
format is more comfortable for the way you learn and express your
knowledge.
The PSAT that you take in your junior year will be considered for
the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. All earlier tests
are taken simply for practice.
EDUFAX provides Verbal Test Prep Tutorials (PSAT/SAT I/SAT II/ACT).
