The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in SAT/PSAT/ACT.....
| Question #101: |
- My daughter is in the 7th grade. Her computerized
PSAT scores were Math=48, Verbal=50, & Writing=43. What is a
good PSAT score for a student in the 7th grade?
|
| Answer #101: |
- The average PSAT scores for a high school student junior are
Verbal=50 and Math=50. The Writing score is not computed into
the total score.
When you consider the fact that your daughter has not been
formally introduced to Algebra and Geometry, which comprise most
of the Math section, her Math score is quite impressive. The
Verbal score of 50 indicates that she has already achieved the
level considered average for a student three years above her
academic level.
Her composite score of just below 100 would be considered
average for a high school student junior, but well above average
for a seventh grader.
I would encourage your daughter to excel in her studies. She
will probably have final SAT scores which will give her the
opportunity of being considered by highly selective colleges.
EDUFAX provides Verbal Test Prep Tutorials (PSAT/SAT I/SAT II/ACT).
