The EDUFAX Educational FAQ

I am interested in SAT/PSAT/ACT.....

Question #10:
  • I have been informed that my PSAT score qualifies me for the National Merit Scholarship selection process. What does this really mean?
Answer #10:
  • The PSAT/NMSQT recognizes the students whose scores are in the top percentages (the number varies from year to year, from 2% to 5%). They then continue to filter, stopping for some students with the Letter of Commendation, allowing others to advance to the semi-finalist category, and ultimately choosing finalists after more selection and an essay process. Notice that you have qualified for the selection process is definitely an asset to your college application, as well as a possible stepping-stone to other categories.
    Congratulations on your good work.
EDUFAX provides Verbal Test Prep Tutorials (PSAT/SAT I/SAT II/ACT).
