The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in RETURNING to school.....
| Question #26: |
- I dropped out of college after my third year, due
to personal reasons. I have been out of school working and
traveling abroad for 3 years and would now like to resume my
education. I am afraid my GPA will haunt me. I now live in
Connecticut. How can I make a fresh start?
|
| Answer #26: |
- If you contact the Charter Oak College, in Hartford, CT, they
will be able to assess how many credits you still need to earn
towards your degree. They also award credits for life experience
and can tell you all about CLEP tests which can also earn you
college credits. You may be actually be closer to getting your
BA than you think!
If you have been spending your time productively, your college
GPA will be less important now than if you were applying
directly after leaving one school and hoping to be admitted to
another. Your essays and interviews will be very important parts
of your re-entry applications. Show that you are a more mature,
committed learner and your old GPA will stop haunting you.
EDUFAX provides services for the Adult/Non-Traditional/Re-entry Student.
