The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in RETURNING to school.....
| Question #20: |
- I have been out of school longer than I was in it.
I find myself wondering what classes I would take if I were to
return to school. Is there an aptitude test for the over 40
crowd which will help identify our strengths? an IQ test?
|
| Answer #20: |
- The brain keeps working throughout life, so age is not a factor
in testing interests and aptitude. You can use the services of a
testing psychologist or career counselor to take the
Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI), a measure which will help
you clarify and categorize your values and interests.
A testing psychologist can also administer various types of IQ
tests. The one most often used is the Wechsler Adult
Intelligence Scale (WAIS), but sometimes special learning
profiles require different testing measures.
Go for it! I'm sure you've got some good brain cells left.
EDUFAX provides services for the Adult/Non-Traditional/Re-entry Student.
