The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in RETURNING to school.....
| Question #12: |
- I am 41 years old and have about two years of college
credit from the 1970's. For the past six years I have been a
teacher. I wish to complete my college degree. Can I receive credit
for my teaching experience ?
|
| Answer #12: |
-
Many colleges offer credit for life experience, although
requirements vary from school to school. There are, however, many
new programs for re-entry students which are designed to give
returning adults the competitive edge and motivation necessary to
finish a degree. You should contact the Admissions Offices of the
colleges that interest you. Ask specifically about re-entry programs
and credit for life experience and previous coursework. You might
also be able to take CLEP tests which would give you credits towards
your degree.
Your goal is definitely attainable. Go for it!
