The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I have a LEARNING DISABILITY.....
take me back to the list of questions
- How do 4 year liberal arts colleges consider an
applicant with a learning disability who has GPA of 95/100, a
PSAT score of 1200, has taken AP & Honors classes, doesn't have
many extracurricular activities and comes from New England?
- You sound like a wonderful student and I believe that many
competitive colleges would be delighted to consider you.
It will be important to discuss your learning disability in the
college essay or in a supplementary essay so that you can
explain why you have less time to give to extracurricular
activities. If it is possible, I suggest you work with an
educational consultant who knows which colleges are
particularly receptive to students like you and will consider
your assets rather than your deficits. Some colleges have
separate applications and review systems for students with
learning disabilities; others require general admissibility
first and then make the necessary accommodations.
Your geographical location is not relevant unless you are
applying to a state college.
