The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I have a LEARNING DISABILITY.....
| Question #19: |
- My daughter has a math-related LD. Her grades in
Algebra and Geometry have been C & D. Should she take Trigonometry
in her senior year ?
|
| Answer #19: |
- There is absolutely no need for your daughter to take Trigonometry
unless she is planning to apply to MIT. In fact, her college
application should discuss her math-related LD and show how far she
went despite the learning difficulties.
Many, many colleges offer support programs for students with
learning differences. When you are researching schools, ask to speak
with the Learning Services Coordinator and find out whatever details
you need to learn about the program.
If this process sounds too daunting for you, find an educational
consultant with experience in placing LD students. You could also
use the EDUFAX services for the LD Student.
