I am studying Dentistry in the Philippines and am interested in transferring to a Dental School in the US. Will I be able to practice in New York after finishing my studies ?

This is really a question that lies in the hands of the US Immigration and Naturalization Service and the policy of the Dental Board of the State of New York.
It is important to know that if you attend Dental School in the US, following graduation you will lose your student visa and will have to apply for a work visa. This will not be easy to obtain, even for a dentist. Unfortunately, obtaining a work visa for any professional who is not an American citizen does not depend on whether or not the applicant successfully graduated from an American school.
