The EDUFAX Educational FAQ

I am an INTERNATIONAL, FOREIGN STUDENT interested in applying to an American college.....

Question #28:
  • I am an American high school junior living abroad. I am very worried about getting into a good American college because I do not have an excellent GPA; it is equivalent to a B- in the US. Furthermore, because I have lived outside the US for 8 years, my English is a bit rusty and I fear this will be a big drawback. What do you think?
Answer #28:
  • There is a college for every student who wants to learn. Although your GPA may prevent you from being accepted at the top ten schools in the US, many other colleges and universities would be happy to have you as a student.
Don't worry about your English - it will freshen up as soon as you start spending some time in an English speaking country. In fact, if you speak a foreign language fluently, your bilingualism will be considered an asset when you apply to a school in the US.
If you are overwhelmed by the process and need help with college selection or your application and essays, check out the EDUFAX services for the international applicant to American colleges.
