The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am an INTERNATIONAL, FOREIGN STUDENT interested in applying to an American college.....
| Question #23: |
- I received my BA in India and MA in Australia. I am
now applying to a PhD program in the USA and have been asked to
provide my GPAs. However, the schools in India and Australia do not
provide a GPA. What should I do ? (courtesy Jina Mukerjee, Eastwood, NSW, Australia)
|
| Answer #23: |
-
If you explain the grading systems at your two previous schools,
American schools will then interpret them according to their
familiarity with the systems. If you provide your undergraduate and
graduate school transcripts, admissions officers will be able to get
an idea of your relative GPA. Even narrative reports (some American
schools use this format) can be interpreted to determine a student's
capabilities.
