The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am an INTERNATIONAL, FOREIGN STUDENT interested in applying to an American college.....
| Question #15: |
- I am an international student. This winter I will be enrolled in an American high school as a senior. I haven't had time to apply to colleges because my application to an American high school was very time consuming. Now, most of the application deadlines to colleges have passed. What can I do ?
|
| Answer #15: |
-
There are many colleges in the United States which accept applications
in January, February, March, and even later. In fact, some schools have
open admission periods, which means they accept students until the
entering class is full. You should correspond with your guidance
counselor at the new high school to ask if you can get help with the
college process as soon as you start school. If they are unable to help,
you will need to hire an independent educational consultant, who will
help you find the information you seek. You may also be able to get a
deferral of the application deadline because of your unique circumstances.
In the US, there is a college for everyone who wants to attend.Depending on where your high school is located, there might be a community
college in the area where you could enroll and later transfer to a
four year school.
Be creative and do not give up.
