I am a foreign student interested in applying to an American Ivy League school. Do these schools accept credit transfer from schools outside the USA ?

Answer #13:

The Ivy League colleges are highly selective, and do not generally share credits with international institutions. They do occasionally accept transfer students who are enrolled in recognized foreign institutions and are doing exceptionally well in academic programs. If you are a student in a private secondary school, you can address an inquiry to an Ivy League Office of Admissions to see how you fit into their candidate pool. If, however, you are already in college, you may have trouble convincing the Ivy League schools to accept certain credits. In fact, this practice is not limited to the Ivies. Schools are generally protective of what they consider their own standards. This is a delicate and often frustrating search, but if you are truly serious, you might succeed.
