The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in GRADUATE SCHOOL.....
| Question #6: |
- Is there any advantage or disadvantage to taking the GMAT more than once? Do schools look at the individual scores? the average? the highest? Do they consider the time period between the exams ?
|
| Answer #6: |
- If you are dissatisfied with your GMAT scores, you should study,
practice and take them again. Schools have no problem with this,
and they do not consider the time between the exams.
There is no "average" score for the GMAT because each school sets
a different cutoff number. The cutoff for Harvard University
would be higher than the cutoff for a less competitive school.
Most business schools create a composite of your GMAT scores and
your undergraduate grade point average. If you contact the
Admissions Offices at the schools which interest you, they will
tell you exactly which criteria they use.
You can find the mailing addresses, e-mail addresses and Internet
home pages of the schools you are interested in on the EDUFAX site. EDUFAX provides services for the Graduate School Applicant.
