The EDUFAX Educational FAQ

I am interested in GRADUATE SCHOOL.....

Question #34:
  • I graduated 20 years ago. My Undergraduate GPA=2.8. The graduate program I am interested in requires a minimum of GPA=3.0. Is there any way I can improve my GPA by taking undergraduate courses or is it too late ?
Answer #34:
  • If you graduated 20 years ago your undergraduate GPA will not be an important part of the application credentials. The admissions committee will consider your standardized testing, your life experience, your professional development, and your essays, more than a set of numbers which reflect ancient history. Although you cannot raise your GPA by taking courses now, it is often a show of good faith to take a course or two and do astonishingly well to show the graduate school that you are ready and able to continue at a superior academic pace.
EDUFAX provides services for the Graduate School Applicant.
