The EDUFAX Educational FAQ

I am interested in GRADUATE SCHOOL.....

Question #33:
  • I am 35 years old. I graduated from college 10 years ago, my GPA was 2.4. since then I have worked in several occupations, worked abroad in the Peace Corps and at the present time am in an entry level position in a profession I would like to develop into a career. Do you have any advice on how to overcome my past failings when I apply to Graduate School ?
Answer #33:
  • You have already done most of what you need to do to make up for what you call your "past failings", and what more generous souls would call "life experience". Although you would probably need to take graduate entrance examinations in the discipline you have chosen, your undergraduate academic record will only be a minor consideration when your candidacy is considered. The quality and content of your essay, the validity of your work experience, and the potential you represent will all be considered when your file is read.
EDUFAX provides services for the Graduate School Applicant.
