The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in GRADUATE SCHOOL.....
| Question #29: |
- My GPA is above 3.0. Compared to the average GPAs of
students admitted to the schools I am interested in, my GPA falls
flat. What level tier should I expect to be accepted to ?
|
| Answer #29: |
- Most lists publish only scores for the top, and not the middle or
bottom tiers. I suggest you do some investigation - correspond with
the schools that interest you and ask what might enhance your
application. It is possible that a period of work before graduate
school might be looked upon favorably. Also, your GRE score is a
critical factor. Study as hard as you can so that admissions
officers will realize you are capable of functioning productively in
a graduate program. If there were any extenuating circumstances
which affected your GPA, let them know.
