The EDUFAX Educational FAQ

I am interested in GRADUATE SCHOOL.....

Question #2:
  • I plan to take the GMAT. What information can you provide in preparation for this test ? (courtesy W.L.Huggins, Newark, NJ)
Answer #2:
  • Graduate schools accept students by using a formula which is generally derived from your college transcript and your GMAT scores. If you contact the schools which interest you, they will tell you their formula and you can assess your target GMAT score. If a GMAT prep course is available in your area and is offered at a reasonable fee, you would be wise to take advantage of it. If you believe you need only a brush-up and not a full course, try to find a graduate student who has already taken the GMAT to tutor you. Placing an ad on a school bulletin board/internet newsgroup often yields results. If these options are not available to you, buy a computer program or a GMAT prep workbook and do as many practice tests as you can. Find your pattern of strengths and weaknesses. If you do not understand why some of your answers are wrong, get help. Some people can interpret standardized tests intuitively, others require assistance.
