The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in GRADUATE SCHOOL.....
| Question #10: |
- I am interested in a Masters in Communication/Media
Studies. My undergrad GPA from Boston University was 3.34, which I finished in 3 years. My GRE scores are not great: Verbal=670,
Analytical=560, and Quant=430. What tier of schools should I be
looking at ?
|
| Answer #10: |
- Your GPA is competitive and Boston University is highly regarded.
It's true, however, that your GRE scores are nothing to dance about.
When did you graduate? Have you worked? These facts may act in
your favor and may render the GRE scores less important.
Has test taking always been difficult for you? Can you show that
it's not an accurate reflection of your capabilities? Did your SAT scores prove predictive of your college GPA?
Make note of the fact that you completed your course of study in three years -- it's impressive.
I think you can look at middle tier schools. University of
Maryland at College Park, and University of Wisconsin at Madison
might be good places to start.
Direct links to the web sites and e-mail addresses of these and many other schools can be found on the EDUFAX Resources page. EDUFAX provides services for the Graduate School Applicant.
