The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in COLLEGE.....
| Question #38: |
- I am a junior and am debating whether I should graduate early. I don't like high school and would rather jump into college, but I don't know if I'm ready. Should I take more classes in high school or should I graduate and take classes at a community college ? (courtesy of Natalie Leach, West Jordan, UT)

| Answer #38: |
- If you have taken all the courses you need for acceptance to a competitive college, you can consider graduating early. Only you know, however, if you are ready for the academic and personal independence of college. Would you plan on attending a community college even if you stayed in high school for four years? If not, why not take a course or two on the college level but stay in high school? Are you planning to apply to a college beyond the community college level? Also, what about your GPA and class standing? Are they where you want them to be when a college considers you as a potential applicant? Another year might bring them up. Most upper- classmen just want to get out of high school, but the truth is, it's not so easy out there. Think long and hard before you make this decision.
