The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in COLLEGE.....
| Question #204: |
- I am planning on applying to UNC-Chapel Hill, early
decision. Does it matter if I take most of my AP courses in my
junior year or in my senior year of high school?
|
| Answer #204: |
- It is important to take as many AP classes as you can handle if you
plan to apply to a highly competitive college. It is unwise,
however, to load up with four or five AP courses in your junior year
and plan not to take any in your senior year. Admissions officers
scrutinize senior year schedules to make sure that applicants have
selected challenging curricula.
Spread the AP courses evenly over your last 2 years and you will
probably have a much more admirable transcript to present to the
admissions officers at UNC-Chapel Hill. In addition to having a
balanced transcript, you will probably do better academically if you
do not overload your schedule with too many high maintenance
classes.
