The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in COLLEGE.....
| Question #165: |
- What are "scholarship scams" and how can I avoid them ?
|
| Answer #165: |
- Most educators and financial aid officials believe that any business
which charges money for finding scholarships is essentially a scam
operation. The fee can be as small as $35 or as large as several
thousands of dollars. These companies usually promise at least one
scholarship, and may be unwilling to divulge records of past
successes. It is almost a contradiction in terms to have to pay
money to get a scholarship, so be wary.
