The EDUFAX Educational FAQ

I am interested in COLLEGE.....

Question #140:
  • My son had his heart set on Princeton University. Unfortunately his SAT=1190. He was invited for an interview, but he has been rejected from Princeton. What can he do to appeal this decision ?
Answer #140:
  • Colleges will only appeal a decision when new information which could change their opinion has entered the picture. It is an extremely rare occurrence. If your son is still interested in attending Princeton, the best thing for him to do would be to attend a postgraduate program at a prep school, take a challenging curriculum with AP courses, and work very hard to improve his SAT scores. He could then reapply and hope for better luck next year.
If this process sounds too daunting, you should contact an educational consultant experienced in assisting students with PG school selection. You can find a listing of certified educational consultants in your area by searching the IECA Internet site. You could also avail yourself of the EDUFAX services for the PG school applicant.
EDUFAX provides services for the Collegebound High School Student.
