The EDUFAX Educational FAQ
I am interested in COLLEGE.....
| Question #110: |
- I am a senior in a private prep school. My class
ranking is 87, 3 short of being in the top half. I think this will
make it difficult for me to attend the college of my choice? (courtesy Michael Wagner, Aledo, TX)
|
| Answer #110: |
- Colleges are not so strict in their consideration of student high
school rankings and deciles. Every high school is considered
according to its educational strengths and weaknesses. Being near
the top half of your high school may be considered a greater
achievement than being valedictorian of a school with less stringent
academic requirements.
In general, small private colleges have the privilege of accepting
the students they like, without adhering to specific numerical
cutoffs.
